Put the Five Fist Postures Together in a Short But Powerful Form
The official name of this Linking form is "Lien Huan Wu Xing." That means "Linking the Five Elements."
This traditional form combines Pi, Zuan, Beng, Pao, and Heng into a continuous flowing sequence that teaches how Xingyi's core techniques connect and support one another.
The Linking Form helps develop coordination, balance, whole-body power, and smooth transitions between techniques. Instead of practicing each element separately, you'll learn how Xingyi moves as a complete fighting system.
On this instructional DVD, Ken Gullette breaks the form down step-by-step, in his direct, plain-language style, explaining the body mechanics, footwork, alignment, and movement principles that give Xingyi its direct and powerful character.
Ken's students have won tournament forms competitions with the Linking form.
The emphasis is not merely on memorizing a sequence. You'll learn how to move the body as a unified structure, how to coordinate the hands and feet, and how to generate power through the entire body.
The Five Element Linking Form serves as a bridge between the basic Five Fists and the more advanced aspects of Xingyiquan. It is one of the most important forms for developing the qualities that make Xingyi unique: simplicity, efficiency, directness, and whole-body power.
Learn How The Five Elements Work Together
The Five Fists are the building blocks of Xingyi. The Linking Form connects them into a seamless system of movement.
Develop Smooth, Continuous Power
Instead of stopping after each technique, you'll learn to flow from one into the next while maintaining balance, structure, and intent.
Improve Whole-Body Coordination
The Linking Form helps train the integration of the feet, legs, waist, torso, and hands so the entire body works together as a single unit.
