In 2005, Sifu Ken Gullette was certified as an instructor with a Chen Tai Chi organization tied to the Chen Village Tai Chi School through Grandmaster Chen Xiaoxing and one of Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang's disciples. The photo below shows Sifu Gullette training with Chen Xiaoxing when the Grandmaster visited his home in the Quad Cities for a week. Sifu Gullette has learned from some of the world's best, including Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang, Grandmaster Chen Xiaoxing (photo at right shows Sifu Gullette practicing with Chen Xiaoxing when the grandmaster visited Sifu Gullette's home in the U.S.), Master Ren Guangyi, Master Chen Bing, and their disciples and students, including Jim and Angela Criscimagna. He has held rank with Grandmaster Sin The (Shaolin), Master Phillip Starr (founder of Yiliquan), and Master Randy Chambliss (Taekwondo). Sifu Gullette won more medals at the 1990 AAU National Kung-Fu Championships than any other competitor, including the Gold medal in advanced men's Tai Chi forms and weapons forms, plus medals in Hsing-I and Bagua. He has tested himself in the fire of competition, winning dozens of first-place trophies in forms, weapons, and sparring.
